Quinte Cricket Club to Host Quinte Cricket Cup 2026 This June
Two-day tournament returns to the Quinte region with $4,600 in prize money on the line.
BELLEVILLE — The Quinte Cricket Club has officially announced the Quinte Cricket Cup 2026, a two-day tournament set to take place on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, with play getting underway at 7:00 AM each morning. Organizers are billing it as one of the most exciting cricket events of the summer in the Quinte region, and early interest from teams across Ontario suggests it could be the largest edition of the cup to date.
The tournament will be played in a fast-paced 8-overs format, a structure designed to deliver non-stop action across the weekend and keep matches tight from the first ball to the last. With shorter innings, every over carries weight — a single big hit or a tidy bowling spell can swing the result of a game. Club officials say the format has been chosen specifically to maximise the number of matches over the two days and to give every registered side a real shot at lifting the trophy.
Entry has been set at $500 per team, with registration now open. A prize pool of $4,600 is up for grabs across the weekend. The champions will walk away with $3,100, while the runners-up will claim $1,500. Trophies and medals will be awarded to all winners, ensuring that every player on a podium side takes home a piece of the day.
Beyond the team prizes, the cup will also recognise standout individual performers. Special awards will be handed out for Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Man of the Tournament — celebrating the players whose performances rise above the weekend's many strong contributions with bat, ball, and all-round impact.
"We're excited to bring competitive cricket back to the Bay this summer," said club organizers. "It's going to be a great weekend of cricket, community, and competition — and we can't wait to welcome teams and supporters to the ground. Events like this are what the Quinte Cricket Club is all about: bringing players and families together and growing the game in our region."
The cup is also expected to draw a strong crowd of spectators, with the club encouraging local families and cricket fans to come out and support the action. Refreshments will be available on site, and organizers are planning a relaxed, community feel between matches — making it as much a weekend gathering as a competitive fixture.
The Quinte Cricket Cup 2026 is proud to be supported by our community partners: Belleville General Hospital Foundation, Belleville Police Services, Belleville Senators, Belleville Chamber of Commerce, and the Glassi Time Podcast.
